Hugues-Chevalier Onohome

The great French Art Deco reinvented

When in 1978 Hugues Chevalier unveiled his first contemporary sofas as a homage to the decorator-assemblers of the 1930s, he deliberately chose to break with the spirit of the times. This aesthetic gamble — bold and counter-current — instantly forged the identity of a house recognised by its sumptuous leathers, precious woods and jewel-like details.

Joined in 2013 by the Bertrand Taïeb family group, the Parisian house perpetuates this tradition under the direction of Frédéric and Laurent Taïeb, surrounded by a team of designers, cabinetmakers, upholsterers and varnishers. Every piece is made to order — from the iconic Dominique sofa to bespoke collections for hotels, embassies and corporate headquarters — in the purest tradition of French luxury.
