The Esse dining table by Alf DaFre draws on seven decades of Italian woodworking mastery, shaped in the brand's Francenigo workshops since 1951. A designer dining table built around a single, arresting idea — twin curved elements that transform structural support into sculptural statement — the Esse belongs to a tradition where engineering and artistry refuse to separate. Handcrafted in Italy, it carries the quiet authority of a house that has spent generations refining the relationship between wood and form.
Two symmetrical arcs rise and meet, creating a base that feels almost gestural, as though the table were caught mid-movement. This sinuous geometry holds space beneath with generosity — no crossbars, no visual clutter, just open air framed by sweeping curves. Above, the top material shifts the entire character: solid wood grounds it in warmth, tempered glass lets the base perform unobstructed, and ceramic introduces a cooler, mineral edge. Each pairing tells a different story with the same vocabulary.
The Esse is offered in two sizes — 220×110 cm, scaled for six to eight guests and well-proportioned for dedicated dining rooms, and the commanding 280×120 cm format, which seats ten with ease and anchors open-plan living spaces where the table becomes the room's centre of gravity. Heights of 74.1, 74.5, or 75.4 cm accommodate varying chair profiles and ergonomic preferences. Multiple top finishes allow precise coordination with surrounding materials and palettes.

Frequently asked questions
Can I choose different top materials and finishes?
Yes — the Esse is available with wood, glass, or ceramic tops, each offered in a range of finishes. Contact us to discuss which combination suits your interior scheme.
Will the curved base design affect legroom or chair placement?
The twin-arc base sits toward the centre of the table, leaving the perimeter entirely open. Chairs slide in without obstruction, and guests at every position benefit from generous clearance beneath.
